The Quarry: New horror adventure from Supermassive launches on June 10th 2022
Supermassive Games, responsible for the acclaimed The Dark Pictures Anthology, invites us to a night of horror with The Quarry later this year on June 10th 2022.
Screaming teens at summer camp, hunters and hunted - the perfect basis for proven horror fun since 1980 (Friday the 13th). For The Quarry, developer Supermassive Games (Dark Pictures Anthology, Until Dawn) has reactivated the tried-and-true formula that will ensure turbulence during summer vacation. Supermassive Games and publisher 2K have shipped well-known actors and actresses to summer camp for The Quarry. The party is to take place in Hacket's Quarry - without any adults at all. Many of the actors and actresses have long since left puberty, at least in reality. The "Who's Who" of slasher films is there: David Arquette (Scream), Ariel Winter (Modern Family), Justice Smith (Jurassic World), Brenda Song (Dollface), Lance Henriksen (Aliens), Lin Shaye (A Nightmare on Elm Street) and other familiar faces.
It's nice that, like other Supermassive titles, The Quarry can be played either solo or in co-op. Up to eight players influence the course of the story with their decisions in local or online multiplayer mode. How do flirtations and relationships develop when it suddenly becomes a matter of life and death in The Quarry? Who dies first, who dies last? Maybe you'll just manage not to let anyone die. You slip into the roles of nine caretakers of the resort. Publisher 2K writes that at dawn, any character can become the main character. Game director Will Byles comments:
The Quarry breaks new ground in terms of interactive storytelling and technology with a truly emotional teen horror experience. I can't wait to see how players decide who to save and who to sacrifice in the game!
