The Surge 2: 8 Minutes of New Developer Gameplay Footage
Developer Deck13 is gearing up for the release of their action game The Surge 2 on September 24th, but before that they're treating us to an almost nine minute gameplay video with a look at their upcoming sequel. Those already familiar with the previous game should have know what to expect with plenty of destructive carnage as you take on foes including robots and more. The Surge 2 will be a hack and slash action game, in the same vein as other hardcore action games like Dark Souls or Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
With a pole weapon in our hands we start in the Sci-Fi post-apocalypse world. Adam Hetenyi, Head of Design at Deck13 talks us through the gameplay and shows the complex battles of The Surge 2, leading you through Jericho City, an almost completely destroyed quarantined city. The new areas in the game are much larger than those seen in the previous game, which should hopefully allow for some epic fights. Brutal battles with require powerful weapons to tackle certain enemies. The Surge 2 also supports asynchronous multiplayer battles and drones. Boss battles have also been taken up a notch as Deck13 and in the video we get our first look at the Delver Echo boss, who can be sliced apart by targeting various body parts.
