The Thaumaturge: a turn-based story-rich RPG with a unique take
The Thaumaturge RPG, from 11 bit studios and Fool's Theory, will be available on Gamesplanet on March 4 in its Standard and Deluxe editions, and if you're in need of more details about the game, we've got you covered.
The Thaumaturge is an isometric, story-rich RPG with a unique take on turn-based combat, character development features, and investigation mechanics, facing you with morally ambiguous choices – set in a world teeming with mysterious powers and strange ethereal beings called salutors. Wielding immense power, only a Thaumaturge can truly perceive a Salutor and use their unique abilities to their whims. A thaumaturge bears both a gift and a burden at the same time. This parallel holds true for Wiktor Szulski, the game’s titular protagonist, who is drawn back to the tumultuous streets of 1905 Warsaw by family matters. The gift of thaumaturgy is intertwined with family legacy, passed down through one's ancestors...
So much for the background and story, as for the game itself you can get a first-hand idea with the long trailer for the quest that was made available in the form of a demo not so long ago.
And if you'd like to learn more, 11 bit studios has even taken the trouble to release a long gameplay video without commentary of the game's prologue.
