Total War: Warhammer 3 announced, launching in 2021
After the success of Total War: Warhammer 2, it was only a matter of time before SEGA and Creative Assembly announced Total War: Warhammer 3 with a loud hammer blow. In the new strategy game, you'll get to play as early as 2021.
It's finally official: SEGA and Creative Assembly have announced Total War: Warhammer 3 for a release in 2021 with a trailer worth watching. The responsible parties don't want to narrow down the release date any further for now. However, the press and the fan community are already assuming that the last hammer blow for Total War: Warhammer 3 will fall in the late Summer or Fall of 2021.
This is what Total War: Warhammer 3 is all about.
It wouldn't be a typical TW Warhammer if there weren't factions making life difficult for each other in the new spin-off of the strategy game series. Once again it's "dark forces" against the "guardians of the mortal world". Demons against humans (and elves?). Good against Evil. You know the drill. Creative Assembly will probably rely on the proven game elements of the Total War series, but also expand Total War: Warhammer 3 and make the established strategy fit for 2021. Publisher SEGA already sees Total War: Warhammer 3 as the "epic climax" of the Warhammer strategy trilogy.
For Total War: Warhammer 3, it is said that a dimension full of malicious magic exists, a realm of chaos. Those who know how to use magic are subject to the temptation of abusing it for their own claims to power. In the realm of chaos, four powers of corruption are enviously opposed to each other: Plague God Nurgle, Slaanesh, the Prince of Debauchery, Tzeentch, Shifter of Ways, and Khorne, the Blood God and Lord of War.
Between the worlds, two kingdoms have set up their guard posts. The Grand Imperial Empire of Cathay and the Warriors of Kislev. The plan: send armies to the Empire of Chaos and provide stability in the fantasy universe. Total War: Warhammer 3 has everything Warhammer fans expect from the sequel: huge monsters, smaller but no less vile creatures, proud heroes, lots of magic and the possibility of not always playing on the side of good.
It means players can preserve the power of a dying god or exploit it. The developer adds, "Will you conquer your demons? Or command them?" That alone hints at how flexibly the campaign can be played. This will increasingly pay into the replayability of Total War: Warhammer 3, because whenever you start a campaign, each race will play differently.
