Rumour: Watch Dogs 3 accidentally revealed?

New evidence seemingly points to a new Watch Dogs being in development as Ubisoft's mobile assistant SAM confirms Watch Dogs 3, but has he been hacked?

It's been a while since we heard anything on the hacking open world action franchise Watch Dogs, with the last game launching back in 2016. Now it seems that a third entry could be on the horizon as evidence points to a reveal coming soon. Last week a new tweet with the words "This is everything." popped up out of nowhere and was met with confusion. The mysterious tweet appeared briefly on the Official Twitter Account for the game before being deleted, which may have been nothing more than a simple mistake. Though many are seeing this is a tease for an incoming reveal. However that's not all, as Ubisoft's Mobile Gaming Assistant "SAM" (currently only available in Canada) went one step further to offer an insight into a possible third entry in the series.

Users who typed in the phrase "When will Watch Dogs 3 come out" were given a clue about the game being in development as SAM replied: "Watch Dogs 3 is not finished yet, but from the last early build I tried it's very solid. The Dev team works wonders! Can't wait for you to try it!". Could this mean we're going to see a reveal for the next entry in the series soon? Hints in Watch_Dogs 2 did point to a London setting for a future title so it's possible that's where we're headed next.

As yet there has been no official word on what the mysterious tweet or SAM's response means from Ubisoft, though it's possible we may see something Ubi's upcoming E3 event which takes place between June 12-14th. We already know that the open world action sequel The Division 2 will be at the event, so it would be nice to see another Watch_Dogs game making an appearance.

There's also unconfirmed reports that a possible Splinter Cell game may also get a reveal, with Michael Ironside reprising his role as Sam Fisher once again - who will also be voicing the spy for the upcoming Ghost Recon Wildlands event which kicks off tomorrow April 10th.
