What is the Windrose?
Build, Craft and Survive with Windrose, a popular Pirate survival game that's taken Early Access by storm since it's April 2026 release, and has now made it's way to Gamesplanet. Players will be able to scavenge resources, get gear and sail the seas in search of treasure. Whether you're a solo player, or you want to team up with other swashbuckling pirates the choice is yours.
Explore procedurally generated biomes filled with hidden mysteries, conquer over 100 hand-crafted dungeons and take on quests to earn great rewards. Voyage the seas, board ships and take part in thrilling ship combat. The game has already proven it's got a fan base around it reaching an impressive Very Positive rating based on 25,679 Steam reviews (at time of writing).
Windrose definitely has a lot riding for it, as you build up a base and plunder the world as you see fit. Think Sea of Thieves, but with a tough of Assassins Creed Black Flag thrown in for good measure. Like the latter, players will be able to recruit NPCs to join their crew and use them to aid you in gathering resources.
Use a variety of weapons including sabers, rapiers, halberds, greatswords, pistols, muskets, and more. Each of which allows for parrying attacks and using combos to unleash powerful attacks. As your arsenal of weapons grows, so too can gear - which unique armour sets that can aide you in battle.
Test your skills against powerful foes, including fearsome bosses that have treasure to claim. Of course, being a Pirate RPG Survival game means also having talent points to spend, and you can customise your loadout with a variety of skills tailored for you. For example, Marathon Runner gives players an extra bar of stamina to use, which is handy for staying alive longer and parrying attacks. Or there's Agile, which reduces the stamina cost for dodging and jumping. There are but two of the many talents available to you.
The game currently supports 4 skills trees: Fencer, Crusher, Marksman, and Toughguy. Each one focuses on a specific type of combat style. So finding the tree that suits you is crucial, with Marksman focusing on ranged combat, while Fencer is aimed for those who like swordfighting.

Windrose Early Access PC System Requirements
Set sail with Windrose, which is now in Early Access. Take a look at the PC system requirements needed to run the game. As always we'd recommend making sure you have the latest drivers for your Graphics Card to ensure the smoothest experience at release - AMD / Nvidia.
System requirements are not final at this stage of development. Ongoing optimizations will improve performance across a wide range of hardware. The stated minimum RAM requirements apply to solo and co-op play. If you choose to self-host a server (world), additional RAM will be required. An SSD is strongly recommended to ensure a smooth gameplay experience.
