Assassin's Creed: Origins developer drops hints of a Modern Day Setting

A portable animus and a modern setting in Assassin's Creed: Origins? Developer drops hints on the upcoming open world action game during a recent Interview.

This Friday you will be able to travel to Egypt as the last Medjay Bayek and his trusty falcon Senus for a journey that will take place during Ptolemaic period in the open world action game Assassin's Creed: Origins. The game will give players the chance to witness the birth of the Assassins and uncover secrets with one of the largest open world Assassin Creed games that has ever been created. Recently it has been teased by a developer that we may see more than just Egypt, as we could say a modern day setting featured in the game too. During an interview, Content Director Bruno Guérin spoke a little about what players could look forward to and dropped hints towards a future setting for a "New Egypt".

Thanks to a video interview which was also covered on Reddit, the developer offers a little more insight into the modern setting in Assassin's Creed: Origins. When pressed about what we can expect, he mentioned that the desynchronization loading screen in the game will give a hint, and could very well be like the portable Animus from the recent Assassin's Creed movie.

Having a portable Animus could very well be game changing, according to a recent article from Gamingbolt. We are curious about how Ubisoft's next masterpiece with the various innovations beats. Friday can come!

This wouldn't be the first time Assassin's Creed has ventured into modern day, every Assassin's Creed game to date has had some form of modern setting (usually with some link to the Animus). How it will play out in Origins though still remains a mystery.

Assassin's Creed: Origins launches this Friday, pre-order and get access to the Secrets of the first Pyramids bonus mission!
