Hi there, no it's a widespread issue that EA is working on. Doesn't matter where you've purchased the game. Our activation process is done via Origin directly which technically it is the same activation when buying a game via Origin.
We are monitoring the situation and will provide a fix update once there's a know, reliable fix for the issue or EA solves it.

replyWe've found a temporary solution that worked for us. Please try this:
Add the game vie Origin webstore instead of the client: https://www.origin.com/ the download should run via Origin download.

There's been further update on this from EA, they suggest clearing their Origin cache first. Here's link from EA support on how to do that: https://help.ea.com/en/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/
