LENOVO giveaway region locks - resolution

Thank you for participating in the Lenovo giveaways.

During the giveaway we discovered that the keys provided were region-restricted, which meant that some participants were unable to redeem their reward. We’re truly sorry for any inconvenience this caused.

Before we were aware of these restrictions, about 1,000 participants had already received keys affected by this issue. Once we identified the problem, we updated the giveaway and store notice to warn new participants — but we know this situation has still been frustrating, and we appreciate your understanding.

Thank you as well for your patience while we worked closely with our partners to find a fair solution within the available options.

We’re happy to confirm that, together with our partners, we’ve secured 1,000 additional keys from the publisher. These keys have no region locks and will be distributed to those who received a restricted key before the limitation notice was posted.

Unfortunately, due to technical constraints of the giveaway system, it isn’t possible to retroactively adjust the queue for everyone who joined after the notice was published. We understand this solution won’t cover all affected participants — especially those who joined later but still experienced issues — and we’re truly sorry. Please know we’re actively reviewing how we run giveaways to prevent situations like this in the future.

The new keys have already been added to eligible participants’ Gamesplanet accounts and can be claimed immediately.

Giveaway Resolution – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Why were only 1,000 replacement keys provided?
The publisher was able to supply 1,000 additional keys specifically for participants who received a region-locked key before the limitation notice was posted. These keys are guaranteed to work without region locks. Unfortunately, no further keys are available at this time.

2. How did you decide who gets the replacement keys?
We prioritized participants who had no way of knowing about the region restriction — those who received their original key before the limitation notice was added. This approach was chosen to be as fair as possible given the limited supply.

3. I joined after the notice but my key still doesn’t work. What can I do?
We’re very sorry for the inconvenience. Due to technical limitations of the giveaway system, we’re unable to adjust the queue or supply additional keys beyond the 1,000 already allocated. However, if you’re experiencing a technical issue unrelated to the region restriction, please contact our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

4. Where can I find my new key?
Eligible participants already have their new key added to their Gamesplanet account. Log in to your account, go to your Gamesplanet account, and your replacement key will be available to claim immediately.

5. Will you prevent this from happening again?
Yes. We’re reviewing our processes with our partners to ensure future giveaways clearly communicate any limitations in advance and that keys are universally redeemable wherever possible.

6. Who can I contact if I still have questions?

7. What happens to the key I received previously? Will it get revoked?
No, the key you received before will remain active. They will not be revoked.

Hey guys, just to throw up any doubts around this. Regional replacements were only supplied if you joined the giveaway BEFORE notices were applied. If you've redeemed after sadly we cannot help you out.

Do you realize that during the entire period of the giveaway there was a notice on Lenovo website itself: "Eligible Countries: Global"? So everyone was participating in a GLOBAL giveaway wasting their time in that stupid queue hoping to win a GLOBAL key.

que porqueria los que alcanzamos voucher solo dicen como si nada si tiene bloqueo regional regalasela alguien que si la pueda activar nombre mega solucion que facil no como no se nos ocurrio antes si no me sirve a mi la regalo ingaturoña

I was among those who redeemed the voucher key before the notice was added, and I even created a discussion about it. However, I haven’t received the new key yet. Could you please check this for me?

You are not in a region locked country. Keys from the first wave are valid for your region. We cannot be held responsible for any VPNs that may be used. Only those who were in region locked countries were given replacements.

I'm always using VPN for my security, my steam region is Ukraine , I can send any proof if you want , this is not fair , I can't redeem my key

If I understand correctly, no key was revoked, and the first 1000 get a global key, in addition to their region locked key, even if they live in region locked countries? Therefore many people get 2 working keys, one for their region, and one global, while we get ZERO WORKING KEY?

No, accounts from non-region locked countries were not taken into account.

Yes I said that and we didn't lie - but we were only able to offer a resolution to those who redeemed before the notices were added. At the point of your comment it wouldn't have mattered as it was after the cut off point.

We did try and get them for everyone but were unable to do that.
