Crimson Desert: Patch 1.00.03 fixes bugs, improves controls, and more
Pearl Abyss is quickly rolling out the first major patch for Crimson Desert: Update 1.00.03 improves keyboard and mouse controls, expands storage options in camp, and tweaks many other aspects of the game.
Pearl Abyss is responding unusually quickly to criticism from the community. Barely a week after release, the studio is following up with Patch 1.00.03 for Crimson Desert and specifically addressing the points of criticism that have been mentioned most frequently—whether from the community or the trade press.
Those playing Crimson Desert on PC with a keyboard and mouse (not recommended) can breathe a sigh of relief: Input responsiveness when moving the character has been noticeably improved, and there are finally practical shortcuts: open the inventory with the I key, the map with M, and abilities with K. You can open the journal with J (J for Journal). Why didn’t they do it this way from the start? Plus, you can now store found items directly in a chest at the camp on Howling Hill instead of lugging everything around with you. Finally!
Combat, Quests, and More Fine-Tuning
Some bosses and enemies have been slightly nerfed. Stamina consumption while blocking has also been reduced, and the sub-boss before the Riedteufel area is now a bit easier to defeat. In addition, there are five other notable adjustments:
- Healing effects of food and cooking ingredients have been increased
- Chopping down trees is faster and works without aiming
- QTE mini-games have been made easier
- Additional teleport points (Abyss Nexus) on the continent of Pywel
- Skills can now be acquired after a single “watch and learn” session
You can find the full patch notes directly on the official Crimson Desert website.
