Destiny 2 - The New Subclassess in the game
The Titan, Hunter and Warlock classes from the first Destiny return in the sequel Destiny 2 - with new subclasses for each class. Offering more unique gameplay powers to play with.
It's little surprise that developers Bungie use a class system within their massive open world MMO shooter Destiny 2, taking what made the classes great in the original game and improving upon them by adding subclasses to each of the 3 available. Each will have their own unique set of moves, for example the Titan is a tank like class is capable of dealing massive damage and using a shield, while the Warlock can use flames to singe his foes. With the focus on subclasses this time around, we're given even greater choice for abilities.
Destiny 2 (like it's predecessor) relies on 3 types of class. The Titans are Warriors and are capable of tanking enemies with more health to tackle enemies. Hunters are a movable class that can strike enemies from afar, or getting up and close with the trusty staff (more on that later) and Warlocks are magic users who can wield powerful fire abilities to their advantage. Whichever class you end up picking, you will be able to feel like a superhero with your character. Newcomers to the game will not be put off either since the game is very easy to learn the basics and at the start of Destiny 2 you will be given all powers to play with. Eventually you will need to gain back those powers, but that's half the fun!
The Guardians, their Focuses and the Supers
Super talents for each class known as "Supers" are present in Destiny 2. Using these powers will depend on your selected talent tree for your class, but will give access to powerful abilities that can do dish out some serious pain. These can also be upgraded via hte skill trees, that allow even more customisation. Depending on which path you take, you could have a completely different set of moves from another player of the same class.
As players progress, they will open up new talents as they progress in their selected class talent tree. This will include skills like, grenade attacks, flaming spells, or evasive maneuvers. Super-attacks (otherwise known as Supers), are deadly attacks and will vary from class to class. A Daybreak Attack for the Warlock subclass Dawnblade cannot be used by a Titan Warrior for example. Titans are also unable to be agile, where as the Hunter is capable of swinging and jumping around like a Mexican jumping bean or a hot potato.
Destiny 2: The new Subclasses and Super Attacks
For Destiny 2, Bungie has added brand new talent trees for each class, with each one allowing for multiple branching paths to allow players to customise their abilities and unlock buffs for certain skills. Warlocks can create a Rift that either heals or buffs. Titans stomp barriers out of the ground, which can be used as protection or for tactical cover as well as being able to restock ammo. And the Hunters are specialized in evasive maneuvers, and depending on the skill, they can recharge their weapon or increase their damage while evading.
Not all classes and subclasses from Destiny 2 are known yet, but the following subclasses are at least confirmed:
Hunter's subclass: Arcstrider
The new subclass for the Hunter is called Arcstrider, who can harness the power of their staff to use in destructive sweeping attacks.
The Arcstrider uses his staff for deadly attacks.
Titan subclass: Sentinel
The subclass of the Titans is called Sentinel. Sentinels can create a void shield, which is not only useful in melee, but can also be thrown like Captain America (we can finally live out the dream in Destiny) at enemies.
A Sentinel using his shield, nobody likes to play Frisbee with him.
Warlock subclass: Dawnblade
The Dawnblade is capable of using their super talent to wield a powerful fire sword that can set enemies on fire. They can also rise up into the air and attack enemies from above, crashing into them and sending out bolts of pure fire energy to those below. This ability is known as "Daybreak" and can be useful against all kinds of enemies, including bosses.

The example of the Dawnblade's shows how the talent trees with the skills in the class menu are built up. In the middle, you can see the largest symbol, which is the main flaming sword and the smaller symbol, which represents the solar grenade.

In the overview with the focusses also class-specific skills can be discovered. They depend on the selected class, but not on the subclass. A novelty in Destiny 2. These are the healing or buff spells of the Warlock. They are useful not only for the Warlock itself, but for all Guardians within the Circle. This includes various types of attack, for attacks with shells or from the air. The jumping abilities known from the first Destiny are also present. With the Warlock Focused Control, Focused Volley, or the Balance Glide.
It seems that the Destiny classes have been given an overhaul and renamed for Destiny 2, as the Hunter Bladedancer, Warlock Sunsinger and Titan Defender have all been redesigned to allow a more enjoyable experience. Which focus will you pick?
The new subclasses of Destiny 2 showcased
Over at FuzzleHC's YouTube channel, you can watch a recording of an exciting developer presentation and experience the new subclasses in action. Hear about the classes in greater detail with the Dawnblade at 3:52, a class which uses flames to burn their opponents to ash. Next there is the Sentinel at 4:08, who uses a shield (much like Captain America) to smash their way past enemies and lastly we have the Arcstrider at 4:23. Arcstriders can summon a mystical staff that gives them an edge in combat, by wielding it and using acrobatics to dodge enemy fire.
