Field of Glory: Kingdoms - Update 1.04 Adds German Language support and other fixes
Are you one of the players who have sorely missed German localisation in Slitherine's Field of Glory: Kingdoms? Patch 1.04 brings German texts to the game - and improves it in other places too.
In Field of Glory: Kingdoms, developed by AGEOD and distributed by Slitherine, you lead a kingdom through explosive scenarios in a medieval setting. Politics, wars, religion - you can't do without them when the game starts in the year 1054 and incorporates more than two centuries of European, Middle Eastern and African history. The development and administration of provinces is at the centre of Field of Glory: Kingdoms. Your decisions regarding diplomacy, economy and military will determine how well (or poorly) your empire will perform.
Try it out if the setting and gameplay appeal to you. We currently have Field of Glory: Kingdoms with a 30% discount in our Field of Glory Sale. You can also save big on other titles from the franchise until November 4th 2024 and make a smart strategic purchase.
However, the strategy game released in June 2024 came onto the market without a German language adaptation, much to the displeasure of some players. All texts and the graphical user interface were in English. This changed with the release of patch 1.04, which released yesterday and now Field of Glory: Kingdoms offers support for German language.
And what else can patch 1.04 do?
Patch 1.04 also adjusts the game experience in other ways. With the introduction of German texts to celebrate the major update, players now have the opportunity to unlock a completely new panel if they control a member of the Holy Roman Empire (HRE). The panel offers insights into the empire and its members. Also:
- Heavy cavalry becomes cumbersome, cavalry increases in clumsiness except when agile. This is a big change that prevents knights from being the best unit even in forests.
- Map improvements: Several new map filters are greatly improved and useful.
- A dozen buildings have been rebalanced and a new one added to solve the infamous copper/brass crisis.
- In battle, surplus frontline units that can provide support now take precedence over support units that cannot provide support (i.e. very weak units such as transport ships). These transport ships (e.g. baggage trains) are now moved to the reserve and do not consume support slots.
- If friendly units are outside a walled city, the garrison will join a possible battle if it is weaker or equal in strength to the units outside.
- Tribesmen have medium infantry, not light infantry.
- Added copper mining on the surface, which should greatly ease the problem of missing brass.
- The game now supports a maximum of 640 factions, no longer 512. Probably in preparation for something big?
