Limbo co-creator unveils next project Sommerville

Ex Playdead co-founder Dino Patti announcces the Sci-Fi Adventure Sommerville, as he starts up indie studio JumpShip to work on the project.

Dino Patti is best known for being one of the co-founders of Playdead who worked on such titles like the crittically acclaimed Limbo and more recently, Inside. Since then, Patti has left the studio and has now started up a new Indie studio known as Jumpship with Chris Olsen. Their first game Sommerville will be a Sci-Fi Adventure which is best described as a “sci-fi action adventure that chronicles the lives of key individuals in the wake of a global catastrophe".

In this little teaser we get our first glimpse at the world, but not much else is shown. Will it also be a sidescrolling adventure like Limbo and Inside were? Only time will tell but for now it's art and visual style is striking and hopefully we'll not have to wait long to see the game in action.

Jumpship's philosophy towards gaming and creating games:

Our philosophy is to break preconceived notions of what games can be by exploring the creative possibilities of the medium. We believe in games as a legitimate and positive endeavor; with potential not only as an entertainment medium, but as a tool to question the human condition. We strive to support our intent with an unwavering ethic in all facets of the process.
This unwillingness to take the path well-trodden, to aim for standards seemingly out of reach and meticulously handcraft every aspect is where the weight of value lies for us as a studio. It raises entertainment to something deeply personal.

Starting all the way back in 2014, the project was originally being created by Chris Olsen, but now Dino Patti has joined him to bring the vision to life. Olsen has previously been credited with animating on games like Heavenly Sword and even doing movies like Iron Man 2, Avengers: Age of Ulton and more!

You can find out more about the game on the Jumpship Official Site.
