Real handiwork: This is how the graphic style of the platformer The Eternal Life of Goldman is created
In a new video, THQ Nordic producer Andreas Schmiedecker shows how much manual work is behind the upcoming side-scrolling platformer The Eternal Life of Goldman. Picture by picture of the hopefully soon to be finished game.
Cypriot developer studio Weappy This is the Police, Rebel Cops has a pretty nice sidescroller for you soon: In The Eternal Life of Goldman, release date still unknown, it still comes down to good old-fashioned manual labor. Andreas Schmiedecker, producer at THQ Nordic, lets us take a look behind the scenes of the creative process in the new trailer.
With the main character Goldman, an old, white-bearded man with a walking stick, you run and jump your way through a hand-illustrated game world, just like in classic platformers. Your task in The Eternal Life of Goldman: to kill a deity. As is usually the case with gods, this mystical deity has never been seen before, but Goldman will already know why he has to avert such dangers. Incidentally, he does this with his stick - which can even be upgraded with additional parts. You'll explore all corners of the archipelago, tangle with the most imaginative creatures and meet bizarre characters.
Inspired by fairy tales and classic legends, Studio Weappy has created a sidescrolling adventure with a very special art style in The Eternal Life of Goldman. According to THQ Nordic, the illustrators have taken their inspiration from animated films and Franco-Belgian comics, which can ultimately be seen in the frame-by-frame animations.
