Team17 announces Rogue Point - a co-op shooter developed by the makers of Black Mesa
You may be familiar with the developer studio Crowbar Collective if you have played the unofficial Half-Life remake Black Mesa. What once began as a mod and fan project evolved over the course of many years of development into a complete and paid game. Soon Crowbar Collective wants to cement its position in the gaming industry with a completely new release - within a partnership with publisher Team17 (Worms, Overcooked, Hell Let Loose).
Rogue Point is Crowbar's tactical and co-operative team shooter and will enter Early Access in early 2025. Watch the announcement trailer here with the first gameplay scenes. ‘Team up with friends and create a tactical team,’ says the description. And further: ‘Plan and execute challenging missions in a dynamic rogue-lite structure, with hundreds of ways to play’. We are excited!
After the death of the world's richest CEO, corporations fight over his empire and order mercenaries instead of food via the MERX app. Only the elite group Rogue Point opposes the plan. In the campaign, as a member of Rogue Point, an independent elite vigilante group, you engage in fast-paced, tactical battles against the dangerous MERX mercenaries - with high replay value thanks to randomly generated missions in different locations. Each MERX opponent, from soldiers to berserkers to snipers, requires special tactics, while the dreaded 5-star commanders demand the ultimate teamwork.
Locations include an airport, a shopping centre, an oil rig and an office environment. Complete missions, earn money and buy useful weapons and accessories. Choose from 22 weapons, 11 tactical devices, 25 attachments such as lasers and silencers, and unlock 55 cosmetic items with different colours and patterns.
