One Piece Odyssey: New trailer focuses on the kingdom of Alabasta and many characters
The release of One Piece Odyssey on 13 January 2023 is getting closer. Meanwhile, Bandai Namco focuses on the kingdom of Alabasta in a new trailer.
Bandai Namco and anime fans worldwide are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the anime series One Piece - and there are good reasons to believe that we will also be celebrating the open-world RPG One Piece Odyssey in early 2023. For the major project, which the developers have been working on for years, Bandai Namco was also able to engage the well-known One Piece artist Eiichiro Oda and composer Motoi Sakuraba ("Tales of" series, Dark Souls) to contribute. The world and character design, including the design of the new monsters, undoubtedly reveal the Oda style. The new trailer also makes this more than clear.
In One Piece Odyssey, your pirate crew suffers shipwreck and then travels to previously undiscovered, open areas, such as the mysterious island of Waford and the lively kingdom of Alabasta, where the popular One Piece characters roam in the trailer shown above. Exhausted and powerless Luffy's gang must regain their strength with the help of other protagonists, while also digging into old memories. One Piece Odyssey combines many familiar One Piece elements and events, combined with a strong, turn-based battle system. But here you don't just slip into the role of Luffy. Zorro, Nami, Lysop, Sanji, Chopper, Robin, Franky and Brook are also playable characters in One Piece Odyssey.
