Star Wars: Squadrons - Everything you need to know!

What is Star Wars Squadrons?
Star Wars Squadrons will see you engaging in dogfights among the stars in a brand new story campaign from the team at Motive Studios, who previously contributed to the Star Wars universe in 2017 with help on Star Wars Battlefront 2 alongside DICE (Battlefield) and Criteon (Need for Speed). Players will be able to enjoy a deep campaign from both sides of the fight, which takes place after Return of the Jedi. Strap into the cockpit as a pilot for the New Republic and also the Imperials, with popular ships from the Star Wars universe including: X-Wings and TIE fighters, with the ability to customise each one.
As well as the single player story, players will also be able to jump into the 5v5 skirmishes and battle other players across the galaxy in a variety of modes. Visit brand new locations in the galaxy such as the gas giant of Yavin Prime and the shattered moon of Galitan. The game also allows you full control over your engines, shields and weapons during gameplay. For example, if you want to divert more power to the shields to survive longer you'll be able to do that, or add the power to the engines and try to escape your attacker.
Not only will you be able to customise your experience with a variety of pilot and ship classes, but the game will also include full Virtual Reality support, taking the immersion to the next level. EA recommends playing on an Oculus Rift on PC, though other VR headsets may also work. Additionally, you'll be able to fight among others in the galaxy regardless of their platform as the game supports crossplay between all versions of the game (both VR and non VR).
There's definitely much to be excited for here, as it appears to be going back to the roots of the classic Star Wars games like the X-Wing Series, while also updating it for a modern audience (and giving the option for VR is always a nice touch). If you're a Star Wars fan, or even someone who just wants to pilot starfighters then Star Wars Squadrons is likely the game for you!

Star Wars Squadrons Launch time
You won't have to wait much longer as the galaxy will soon be yours to explore with the release of Star Wars Squadrons on October 1st at 3pm PDT / 11pm BST. Players will be able to enjoy a preload ahead of the game from tomorrow morning (time subject to change).
- Preload time: September 30th at 9pm PDT / October 1st at 5am BST / 6am CEST
- Launch time: October 1st at 3pm PDT / 11pm BST / 12am CEST (Oct 2nd)
